The Bank of Georgia continues to promote the agro sector and support business. In partnership with the bank, “Kanda Agriculture” will plant almond and fruit orchards on an area of 100 hectares in the village of Kanda. The total cost of the project is 11 million GEL, and the bank’s participation is equal to 7 million GEL.
Along with almond orchards, the project will combine cherry, apricot, plum, peach and plum orchards. 15 people are involved in the activity, and 50 local people will be employed seasonally.
“We are glad that in cooperation with the Bank of Georgia we are given the opportunity to implement the mentioned project. Our current plans include planting 100 hectares of almond and other fruit orchards in the village of Kanda. In the future, we plan to give the project an even more large-scale look and, with the support of our partner, the Bank of Georgia, develop activities in the direction of tourism and hospitality at the facility,” says the head of business projects of “Kanda Agrikulcher”, Tamar Berulava.
Within cooperation between Bank of Georgia and Kanda Agriculture, the foundation was laid for one of the large-scale and important projects. We believe that the project will play a major role in increasing the economic potential of the country, as well as create new jobs and promote the development of agro-management. We are always ready to support similar initiatives so that we can strengthen the business even more,” said Valery Narsia, Deputy Head of Corporate Banking Services of the Bank of Georgia.
